Starter templates

Every repo below lives at github.com/BootForm and is a GitHub template: click Use this template on the repo and you get your own copy to edit. Each one ships with an AGENTS.md so an AI coding agent reads the real conventions instead of guessing at them.

Some need nothing beyond a browser and a GitHub account; others need a terminal, Git, Node.js, and a code editor. If you're not sure how to set any of that up, Setting up your computer walks through all of it, plus how to publish a repo with GitHub Pages and put it on your own domain.

RepoStatusSetupWhat it's for
first-websiteLiveBrowser onlyYour first page on the internet, in about 15 minutes. Nothing to install, ends with a working contact form.
one-page-siteLiveBrowser onlyA real company landing page for a small or local business, ending on your own domain instead of github.io.
vitepress-marketingLiveTerminal + Node.jsVitePress set up as a marketing site with a blog, not a docs site wearing a hat.
vitepress-blogLiveBrowser only, or Terminal + Node.js to preview locallyA real blog engine for VitePress: generated post list, tags, RSS, authors and search, everything VitePress doesn't ship by default. Edit it in github.dev and GitHub Actions builds it (walkthrough).
vitepress-portfolioLiveTerminal + Node.jsProjects, case studies, and a hire-me form that works.
contact-form-recipesLiveVaries by frameworkCopy-paste forms for Astro, Hugo, Jekyll, Eleventy, Svelte and VitePress (vanilla JS, React, Vue and Angular are already covered in the framework guides).

New templates land one at a time. Watch the org on GitHub to hear about each one as it ships.

Make a form look right

form-styles is a live, browsable site, not a template to clone: input types (date, number, phone, file, select, radio, checkbox), states (focus, validation, success, submitting, dark mode), field layouts, and full sections that pair a form with something else (contact info, a map, an FAQ, a newsletter band). Every example renders on the page itself next to its own syntax-highlighted, copy-buttoned code. Backend-agnostic: it styles a <form>, whichever backend sends it somewhere.

Building with an AI agent

site-skills is a Claude Code plugin marketplace: two plugins, vitepress-sites (build a marketing site, portfolio, or blog from the templates above) and bootform (add a working contact form to any site, and style it). It packages the templates above as skills, so asking an agent for "a portfolio with a contact form" scaffolds the right template and calls bootform_create_form for you; the first time, you sign in (or create a free account) in the browser. See MCP & AI agents for how connecting works.

Never a live form ID in a template

Every template ships the placeholder https://f.bootform.com/__YOUR_FORM_ID__ in its form's action. A form ID is the entire claim credential: whoever claims one first owns it permanently, so a real ID checked into a public repo would let a stranger claim it before you do. Each template's own README walks through generating your own random ID, which costs you nothing extra: the zero-friction quick start only depends on the ID being random, not on it being shared.
